Super League

Stadio Néas Smírnis. Wednesday 11th May

Kick Off: 16:15

Panionios take on Panathinaikos in the Champions League/Europa League play-offs involving the four sides placed 2nd-5th at the end of the regular season. The team that wins the play-off will join the tittle winners Olympiakos in the Champions League next season, while the sides finishing second and third will enter the Europa League and the unlucky fourth placed side leaves with nothing. Panathiaikos recovered well after it looked like they might not finish in their usually top two spot, only claiming the position on the final day of the season. The work starts all over again though and now Panionios provide the first test in the play-offs, but they are a side that historically struggle when coming up against Panathinaikos. The visitors will head into this one as the favourites, but form goes out of the window in the play-offs.
