Preview: Manchester United v Bournemouth

Important infomation: Manchester United's final Barclays Premier League match of the season will now be played on Tuesday 17 May, when kick-off is set for 20:00 BST. This follows the abandonment of Sunday's planned fixture due to a suspicious package that was discovered at Old Trafford.

Scene-setter: Louis van Gaal's men can realistically no longer finish fourth and qualify for the UEFA Champions League after Manchester City's 1-1 draw at Swansea City on Sunday afternoon. The Reds are determined to end the league campaign on a high though, particularly with the FA Cup final to follow at the weekend.

Form guide: A second defeat in the last 12 matches was suffered during West Ham's Upton Park farewell, despite two goals for Anthony Martial. Louis van Gaal's men have only lost twice at home all season (not including the penalty shoot-out defeat to Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup), while the visitors are 17th in the form table, covering the last six matches, but have won three of their last six games on the road.

Last meeting: On the back of a disappointing midweek Champions League exit in Wolfsburg, United lost 2-1 to Eddie Howe's side in front of 11,334 fans at the Vitality Stadium last December. Marouane Fellaini cancelled out Junior Stanislas's early goal direct from a corner, but former Red Joshua King bagged the winner in the second half.

Latest team news: Van Gaal made three changes to his starting XI for Sunday's postponed match with Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, Michael Carrick and Jesse Lingard all returning. Ashley Young was named on the bench following his return to training, but there was no place for the injured Matteo Darmian. Marouane Fellaini is still suspended, while Luke Shaw and Bastian Schweinsteiger are out for the season. For the visitors, Callum Wilson is fit again after missing much of the season due to injury, but Tyrone Mings and Sylvain Distin appear to be unavailable.

Opposition manager: Eddie Howe is one of the brightest young managers in the English game and has worked wonders in his second stint as Cherries boss. He saved the club from relegation out of the Football League in his first time in charge after making over 250 appearances for them in his playing days, again in two different spells. A managerial move to Burnley in 2011 did not really work out but he has reaffirmed his up-and-coming status in some style.

Trivia: This is Bournemouth's first league visit to Old Trafford. The Seaside outfit have never scored at the Theatre of Dreams, losing all four cup ties by an aggregate scoreline of 12-0. However, the South Coast side's win on their home patch in December was their second against the Reds following the FA Cup upset in 1984 when Harry Redknapp's men knocked out Ron Atkinson's holders.
