After the big drama about Sam Allardyce and his decision to accept the job offered by England FA, it seems like Sunderland’s club board has found the perfect solution. Experienced and known expert David Moyes has been appointed as new head manager for the Saints and he will have his debut tomorrow. They are currently preparing for the new season in Switzerland, where they will have series of games against domestic and French teams. Stade Nyonnais are their next test tomorrow night and it is very hard to expect from a 3rd division squad to represent a big threat for standard members of England Premier League.
Sunderland have already played two pre – season games but on the UK soil. They were victorious against Rotherham and Hartlepool United ( 3 – 0, 2 – 1 ), and the squad was looking pretty fit in those matches. When it comes to the latest transfer period, it seems Sunderland’s club board hasn’t shown all the cards yet. There are rumors of some big name arriving at the Stadium of Light but nothing was confirmed yet.
If we are going to judge by the odds, Sunderland won’t be that big favorites to win this match. The current odds are 9/20, while the Swiss side are the underdogs with 3/1. It is still unknown if David Moyes is going to use his best players straight ahead tomorrow, but still the quality is on the side of Sunderland. We have no doubts they will achieve the 3rd consecutive victory in the pre – season period.
Stade Nyonnais are currently participating in the 3rd Swiss division, where they were last season as well. They were 7th in the final standings for last year with 39 points from 30 games.
