Ricardo Quaresma was only fit enough to come off the bench in their surprise 1-1 draw with Iceland in their Euro 2016 group opener and Fernando Santos will be hopeful of deploying him from the start this time out. This could see Portugal revert to a 4-3-3 formation.
Renato Sanches became Portugal's youngest ever player to feature in a major tournament in that game and has been tipped to start against Austria after a promising cameo. He could feature at the expense of Danilo or Joao Moutinho.
Vieirinha could also be set for the chop after he was at fault for Iceland's equaliser.
Austria
Austria will be without Alexander Dragovic after he was sent off in their shock 2-0 defeat against Hungary in their first match of the tournament. Kevin Wimmer is expected to fill in at his expense.
Marc Janko overcame a back injury to start against Hungary but he was hauled off just after the hour mark. His place is in doubt here.
