UEFA has announced the matchday calendar for 2016-17 champions league season. The group stage will begin in the midweek of 13-14 September 2016 but the qualifying rounds will be started as early as 28-29 June 2016. First knockout round (Round of 16) will begin on 14-15 February 2017 while the final will be played on 3 June 2016. Below is the entire Champions League schedule for upcoming season starting with the first qualifying round to the final.
Champions League 2016-17 Teams: Once the 2015-16 league season are over around Europe we will have our confirmed 22 teams who will go straight into the group stages while 10 more teams will join them after the three qualifying rounds and the playoff has been played in mid august. The seedings will be announced before the 2016-17 group stage draw takes place on Friday, 26th August 2016.
Champions League 2016-17 – Tickets:General public sale for tickets of Champions League 2016-17 final at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff will start from 03 March to 23 March. While the earlier games including group stages and other knockout ties tickets can bought from the respected club’s official websites or ticket exchange sites like Viagogo.co.uk and ticketmaster.com.
UEFA only control tickets for the final match which is ofcourse played at neutral stadiums and to get Champions League final tickets you have to act during the general public sale which goes live after the round of 16 matches. We will have more updates about ticketing process right here.
