Eyebrows would have been raised if you said these two would be long ruled out of title contention by mid-April before this most unpredictable of seasons began, but this will at least be a tad more competitive than City’s last visit to Stamford Bridge, where Manuel Pellegrini’s protest team were skewered 5-1 in the FA Cup.
