“Even though we won that match 4-2 there was some miscommunication at times between our goalkeeper and the defence that we’ve taken steps to correct,” he told the official AFC website. “We made several changes at the weekend and we didn’t concede any goals so we are prepared for this match, where we expect our opponents to use a lot of long balls.”
Meanwhile, Bengaluru have not played since their loss to Johor and remain in second place on the I-League standings.
Heading into the match, Bengaluru, who are in last place on the Group H standings with no points, will have to keep their eyes on Ayeyawady striker Christopher Chizoba as he scored a hat-trick in his side’s victory over Lao Toyota.
With Bengaluru still searching for their first win in the tournament, assistant coach Pradyum Reddy has called on his side to put their disappointing start behind them and focus on securing three points against Ayeyawady.
“We’ve not had a good start to the AFC Cup, but we hope we can change this and get a positive result here against a side that contains several talented young players,” he said.
