Two of Euro 2016’s early surprise packages do battle in Marseille on Saturday, with a victory for either Hungary or Iceland leaving them well placed to make an appearance in the knockout rounds.

Indeed were Hungary, 2-0 victors over neighbours Austria in the opening round of games, to pick up another three points they would be guaranteed their place in the last 16 with a match remaining of the group stage.

However they may not have all that many of the neutrals in France and beyond on their side after Iceland’s remarkable feats against Cristiano Ronaldo and company as they captured European hearts with their powerful, energetic and committed display to secure a 1-1 draw against group favourites Portugal.
