Hamsik and Kroos are slightly different players -- Hamsik is almost a second striker (and possibly the most advanced player of his team), while Kroos typically plays as a central midfielder. Germany are expected to dominate the play, so Slovakia must shackle him and give Hamsik the chance to dictate play, too.

That man again. The Arsenal midfielder stepped up against Northern Ireland as he was finally offered passing options in front of him. His passes got behind the defence, between the lines and always to his teammates. Passing mostly in the final third, just one ball did not reach its destination.

With Joshua Kimmich likely to play at right-back once again, Ozil will have similar options against Slovakia. Thomas Muller, who has yet to score a European Championship goal, and most probably the luckless Mario Gotze will offer Ozil options.

Ozil is the focal point in Germany's attacking game, and while critics will cite his defeatist body language if things don't go his way, his displays on the pitch lift Germany.
